Impatient Cooking

Walnut Cookie CakesJan 24 mid morning and there was nothing sweet in the house. Waiting for lunch just was not going to cut it. Pan fried with the heavy lid on at low flame. Don’t ask for recipe. Just dumped raisins, walnuts, brown sugar, salt into the flour. Everything sank to the bottom so I had to add on top before cookies were completely done. The chocolate is for the half of me that likes it. I will not say that it was the best cookie I have ever had, but I don’t think that I would put it down to eat the best.

Last of everythingLast-of-Everything-Lunch. Last potato, last onion, last mushroom – fried in olive oil and butter – One pan speciality when just downright hungry. Thyme and coriander added. I was eating it and thought that perhaps ketchup would be good but I couldn’t put down my fork and waste the time getting up to get it. Fortunately, the cookie I had for dessert is not the last. Still have two more.

I just looked into a closet I had not looked in before. In the thirty years of our marriage, there are a number of cupboards and drawers I never looked into. Don’t know what is in there. Today, one of the doors popped open because I closed an upper one and inside were all of her shoes. I never wondered where she kept all of them. They were just on her feet when they were. It is very very hard for me coming across these things she used to wear, or read, or listen to.

Cheese Snack on ChallahSnack number 540. Don’t have pictures of the other 539. Challah, which is a sweet loaf of bread made especially for Shabbat in Israel. Cheese (Kashkaval and Blue in this case) with almonds. Fried at low flame with cover on. And cashews. Didn’t have the patience to put them on all of the  pieces.  In the mug – instant mushroom soup with whipped milk.
Great for a cold, rainy Saturday night when no one is around so you can have them all.
Have to admit, that if someone came by, there were others left in the pan with the rest of the cashews.

Stir Fried Slaw and Pita DogsThis one I had forgotten about until I saw the picture. Very good. Stir fried the slaw and dumped the rest of the olives in. The dogs are vegetarian but there is no telling the difference. Humus with premium olive oil.

This post seems to recieve a great deal of visitors. How do you advertise it? It gives a nice unique twist on things. I guess having something authentic or substantial to say is the most important factor.

This is a wise web site. I indicate it. You have so much understanding about this situation, and so significantly passion. You also know how to make people rally behind it, obviously from the responses. Youve received a style and design right here thats not also flashy, but helps make a statement as big as what youre saying. Great position, in truth.
