I had bought some apples for baked apples about 2 months ago. When I went to get them the other day – well. I bought new ones.
Doing it the way it shows in the photo, I didn’t have to core the apple – something which I was not lookng forward to since I do not have a corer and last time I did this about 10 years ago, I almost sliced my thumb off using a regular sharp knife. Just cut in half and do it with a regular knife. I thought it would take longer to cook but within 5-8 minutes (I don’t really know except when I went to see how it was going, it was ready. I put too much water in at the beginning, so in order to make it look good on the plate, took the apples out and boiled most of it away with some extra sugar. Then I had to redo the whipped 3% milk because I took too long doing the syrup making thing, and then trying to get the whipped stuff to stand up, I failed. Enough, I was not making Star Wars. So, I sat down and enjoyed it – in the middle of the morning knowing that it would leave me with no desire to cook lunch.
