You have not seen it all until you see the cat lying in the sun. This page has a previous page. Don’t miss it.

If you have never tried banana with mushroom and walnuts on fried tortilla squares, then you just haven’t lived.

Thought you would never ask. This one depends on having some of the raisin/walnut/instantwholeoats fried mix which was then boiled in water until it was a gooey lump. The pancakes are mostly egg with some pancake flour. And of course, artificial maple syrup. I bought some real once but it was very pricey, less volume, heavy glass jar to carry home, and cost more. Sometimes the artificial can outpace nature but not often.

Light lunch. This is zucchini/eggplant/onion/sunflowerseeds/redpepper with thyme/salt/redwine/ stir fried in margarine (ran out of butter), and Parmesan on top. It was going nicely until I looked into the pan and there was the tag of the eggplant producer stuck to one of the pieces (I like to document my stuff). Excellent – at least two forks. Thought I would leave some for another time. Couldn’t do it. It is fortunate that I am not a cook in my own restaurant. The guests? What guests?. The second time, I put blue cheese on top. Don’t. Hides the flavor of everything. If you love blue cheese, than this is your dish. Doesn’t matter what’s underneath.

I love tortillas. That being said, I need say no more. Oh that? It’s Indian (from India) beans from a can (but refried beans, baked beans will do) with some “just happened to have” Bar-B-Q sauce and the last of the ketchup, getting ready to be folded over onto the stir fried tomatoes and mushrooms. Needs a bib – for me the sink would have done just as well.

Great stuff – Mushrooms/onion/seeds/tomatoes, I’ll make it again soon but you will not see it because I only put it up once. And yes, I do eat all that I show, and I also eat all that I do not show. We are what we eat. That’s the reason I have not looked in the mirror recently. Note: See mushroom warning at beginning of page.

Instant breakfast, after you do all of the preparation of course. This is stir fried-in-butter or margarine (olive oil, or other just as good) nuts/raisins/dried apricot/instant oats/sugar until it reaches the right color. One thing to remember is that when you get it to the color you like ( for me that’s dark brown), get it out of the pan fast because a heavy metal pan continues to cook even off the stove. Color is very important in eating. Just had a thought(someone out there is saying “oh oh, here it comes”). Maybe the reason that some children eat dirt, aside from the nutrition it may have, is because it looks good – the more nutrition, the better it looks. Forget I even said that. Anyway, this is my version of dirt. And now the instant part. Just pour boiling water over it and you have a great breakfast dish.

My advice on this one if you ever try it. Do not photograph it. The fried salad in olive oil sunk into the pastry and I could not pick it up as I thought would have been possible. So I enjoyed it as it was spread out on the plate.

Pasta layers with burger and corn topped with thick slices of Parmesan cheese, and tomato sauce (the last of it). Cooked everything together and then poured out the water and layered it, put the cheese on in thick slabs and cooked it some more with the lid on. What would I do without that lid? Serving for two, but since no one else was around, well, you know.

Brussels with instant mushroom soup paste and some non instant mushrooms. Together with the above, it was perfect. Note: See mushroom warning at beginning of page.

Total disaster which actually came out surprisingly well. This time I needed a cake. Cookies just were not going to hack it. So I mixed up some cake flour and an egg and poured it into a hot skillet. Didn’t look like much of a cake. So I made some more dough and poured that in. Then I remembered that you need sugar in a cake! Put a lot of brown sugar into some more dough and put that on top. Couldn’t mix it in because the cake had already begun to cook. I put the heavy lid on hoping that it would make it cook faster without burning on the bottom – a lot of premium olive oil. When it finally passed the knife test – nothing sticking to it, I put the mashed up walnuts, cookie crumbles and whatever else that I had on hand plus some chocolate syrup and you see the result. The bottom was a golden brown, the cake was done, and I enjoyed eating it with a little help from some maple syrup. But I proved to myself that it could be done in a skillet. Of course everyone has known that for ages but I didn’t.

Leftover Tortilla. This has been one of those days. I ate a piece of my panCAKE for breakfast with maple syrup which I would not have had to use if I had made the cake with the sugar IN the dough and not just lying on top. But with a good hot cup of coffee, it was all I needed. And now this for lunch. The Indian beans out of a can and leftover pasta with instant mushroom soup mix. And for a cold day in January, I could not have done better – well, I could have, but not in the mood I was in. Someone should help me out and name all of these dishes – at least the ones I have never seen before. This is fried potatoes/onions/realmushrooms/shelled sunflowerseeds with some spices (don’t ask me which) and slightly fried tomatoes at the end. What’s different about this is that they really compliment each other. “Hi, you’re looking fine.” “Well, so do you.”

This is coffee cake. My panCAKE and (I’ve finally found out how to get 1% milk to whip – put instant coffee in as a binder). It whips better without the sugar, so I put it on top at the end. Not shown. I don’t show everything – like me eating these things.
